APA 7 Citation Guide for Online Students

Most APA 7 marks are lost in the same few places: a missing reference for a cited source, a URL with no retrieval context, inconsistent author formatting, and hanging indents that were never applied. Start by making sure every in-text citation has a reference and every reference is cited. Then check author names, dates, titles in sentence case, and journal names in title case. Finally check the mechanics: double spacing, hanging indents, alphabetical order.
